PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITY
I moved to Del Mar in 2012 because of the beauty of our small unique village and found it to be the perfect place to call home.
Prior to running for City Council, I became active in Del Mar by serving as Chair of the Traffic, Parking Advisory Committee (TPAC) as well as the Vice Chair of the 6th Citizens Housing Element Ad-Hoc Task Force.
Professionally, I am a registered nurse and a surgical program director. Along with my husband Alan and dachshund pup Sophie, I enjoy the beach, lagoon trails and the special community and residents of Del Mar.
I was elected to City Council in November 2020, was named mayor in December 2022, and have continued to serve as your representative on City Council.
During my term on council, it has been my honor to serve as a representative and liaison to a number of committees and boards. I have served as a representative on the SANDAG Board of Directors (1st Alternate); NCTD Board of Directors; the 22nd Agricultural Association Community Relations; League of California Cities; San Diego Chapter CSA-17 Ambulance District Advisory Board; Fire Governance Board; Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plan Implementation Subcommittee; and Housing Subcommittee. I also served as the Liaison to Parks and Recreation Committee; Del Mar Community Connections; Del Mar Village Association;and the Sustainability Advisory Committee.
I ran for City Council because I believed our Community Plan (established to protect our beaches, lagoons, bluffs, open spaces and quality of life) was under threat. During the past two years, with the election of a more resident-focused council, we have made significant progress, but there is more work to be done.
Working with City staff and fellow council members, I am focused on getting the things done that have been promised such as under-grounding utility lines, protecting open space and resident views, helping our businesses thrive, supporting our Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plan without Managed Retreat, finding a path to move the tracks off our bluff and forging a strong relationship with the Fairgrounds to build affordable housing.
